Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the successful leadership and management of The Haven, working closely with the Board of Directors of Haven Foundation. The ED is the public face of the organization and is responsible for overseeing strategy, financial performance, educational programs and administration. Key duties include fundraising, marketing, community outreach, and implementation of the Facilities Masterplan. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. This is a complex and demanding position, requiring a wide range of competencies.

Director of Youth Leadership Training

The Director of Youth Leadership Training supports the leaders of youth programs.

  • Serves as a liaison with youth leaders.
  • Evaluates and tracks the progress of youth leaders.
  • Assists in managing communications between program leaders, assistants, youth leaders and family members.
  • Creates opportunities to bridge between youth and adult programs at The Haven.

Independent contractor: One-year term.

Start date: Role is available now.

Location: As an independent contractor, the Director will conduct their activities at a location of their choice, but the Director may be required to travel to The Haven on Gabriola Island from time to time.

The Cook is the shift leader of a health-forward team that prepares buffet-style meals for our program participants and other guests in a great environment on Gabriola Island.

  • Some experience is required, formal training preferred.
  • Certification in FoodSafe and Occupational First Aid.

Terms of employment: Part-Time, year-round.
