Haven Board to Match Bursary Donations

Members of the Haven Foundation Board have provided $25,000 as a time-limited Matching Fund to encourage additional donations to The Haven's Financial Aid Program. This means that from now until the end of 2009, every dollar you give will be matched by the Board, until the $25,000 matching pool has been exhausted. This offer represents the commitment of Board directors and committee members of the Haven Foundation to the vitality of The Haven's invaluable Financial Aid Program.

Please support The Haven by making a donation to Haven Foundation. Any gift, large or small, is appreciated and makes a difference.

The Haven is a not-for-profit, charitable organization, registered in Canada and the US. Your donations ensure that The Haven remains vital and sustainable into the future.

• You can become a Haven Friend for as little as $50 a year. The more Friends we have, the more we can achieve together.

 

• You can become a Haven Partner by donating $1000 or more a year, as a lump sum or in monthly installments. As a Haven Partner, you know that your generous contribution enables us to achieve our goals more quickly.

Five reasons to donate:

• Our financial aid program has been running successfully since 2004.
• Since then, nearly 250 adults and children have attended programs who would otherwise not be able to come.
• The generosity of donors makes this possible; The Haven can only give according to what we receive.
• Donations help us to improve our facilities and the quality of our program delivery.
• You will receive a tax receipt at the end of the year for any donation over $20.

Our goals for the future:

• To continue to offer our life-enhancing programs.
• To ensure that our programs are accessible to as many people as possible.
• To offer our programs in a facility which supports and enhances learning.

In order to achieve these goals, we need to upgrade our buildings, continue investing in our programming and provide additional funds both to support our financial aid program and to keep our fees as accessible as possible.

Our targets for 2009/10:

• $75,000 to upgrade Heron, our oldest and most popular session room. We have designated 2009 as the Year of The Heron.
• $25,000 to replace the cistern liner and deck for the hot tub.
• $20,000 for a new passenger van.
• $60,000 for bursaries and loans.
• $20,000 for the Youth Leadership Program.

These are some of the components of a fundraising target of $300,000 for 2009/10.

You can choose whether to designate your donation to a particular area, such as facilities or financial aid, or you can allow us to choose the area of greatest need. You can make your donation in memory or in honour of someone important in your life.

Bequests can be made in your will. A planned gift lasts beyond a lifetime and enables our children and grandchildren to benefit from the rich experiences and learning offered at The Haven. To discuss a planned gift, please contact Rose Hunter (1 877 247 9238 ext 239).
