creative aging: embracing the second half of life

What are you going to do with the rest of your life? The second half of life can be rich and fulfilling. Although aging is often thought of as a time of decline, it is actually a period in which significant growth occurs. Older brains develop in ways that facilitate creative thought and exploration. Perhaps for the first time, there is freedom to pursue interests and passions set aside in favor of family and career obligations. There is a rich opportunity for wise elders to both learn and teach. At the same time older people face change, loss and end of life. This program offers a careful look at creatively embracing the second half of life.

This program is for you if you are:

  • In, or entering, the second half of life
  • Anxious about your future
  • Longing for meaning
  • Seeking passion and purpose
  • Wanting to review and assess your life experience
  • Interested in having a positive attitude about growing older
  • Attracted to discovering and creating possibilities for yourself

Format: Using music, guided imagery, art, stories, quiet reflection and other experiential forms you will have an opportunity to consider your past, your life today and to imagine your future. The leaders will share their own second half of life experiences and learning as well as current information on aging. There will be rich discussions and time for personal contemplation as well as fun and laughter.
