The body in communication

This program focuses on the role of the body in how we communicate. Communication is often assumed to be primarily a mental activity, an exchange of ideas, thoughts, and only occasionally, feelings. Yet it is our bodies that attend to collecting information and sensing our internal and external world. Our bodies react and respond to all our interactions. They can inform us about every aspect of our relating and communicating.

This program is for people who want to:

• Open and deepen their communication
• Make contact from a "present" state
• Focus on their body process while in communication with others: body tracking, body sensations, body cues, and "updating" the body
• Experience static and non-static energy, grounding, and energetic boundaries
• Explore their beliefs about the body
• Use body experiences to free up habitual patterns
• Distinguish sensations from feelings, to open and create a greater range of sensational responses, and awaken to contact while communicating

Format: This three-day experiential program includes activities such as drawing, self-regulatory energy exercises, dramatic forms, movement, visualizations, group sharing, and presentations. Energy models presented include: the chakra system; the medical model of neurological systems; Traditional Chinese Medicine; extra-sensory perception; the Haven models; and body tracking techniques.

Continuing Education Credits: Approved for Continuing Education Credit hours by the Canadian Counselling Association (www.ccacc.ca)

Early Bird Tuition: $495.00 if you register and pay in full at least two weeks in advance.

Accommodation and Meals
The Haven offers a range of comfortable rooms and suites. All accommodation is designed to be shared by two or more people, though private rates are available. We make every effort to meet the needs of all our guests, but cannot guarantee specific rooms. Rates include three buffet-style meals per day.

There are three types of room: Basic, Forest view, and Ocean view.
