Sexuality and Identity offers the opportunity to explore a unique and enlightening approach to the nature and nuances of sexuality. This program provides insights, experiences and information intended to dispel misunderstandings and inaccurate beliefs that surround sexuality. The 'identity' aspect of the program will offer each participant an opportunity to discover the particular flavour and style of their own sexuality.

This program is for you, if you:

  • are interested in discovering more about your sexuality
  • wish to better integrate sexuality into your life and relationships
  • want to deepen your sexual experiences, to feel more excitement with your intimacy
  • are interested in discovering the spiritual aspects of sexuality
  • your sexual experiences have been confusing, unsatisfactory, or painful
  • you work in the field of sexual education and/or therapy

Format: In a respectful and confidential atmosphere participants will join in group discussions and lectures, augmented by video and movies. Current information regarding STDs, safe sex practices, contraception and personal orientation will be presented in a frank and thoughtful manner, with time for open dialogue and discussion. There will be men-only and women-only discussion sessions to talk about gender-specific topics of interest. Styles and methods of sexual expression, and ways to explore these in a safe and respectful manner will also be discussed.

PLEASE NOTE: One of the evenings features a role reversal dance in order to better appreciate the experience and challenges of gender identity; in preparation for that, participants should bring to the program a costume of the opposite sex.

Faculty: Cathy McNally, Ernie McNally, Bob Owen, Ruth Emerson
