Skills 3: Gestalt Plus

The term Gestalt refers to three different things: a practice or exercise sometimes referred to as 'two chair work'; a school of psychotherapy; and the concept of the 'wholeness' of a picture or situation. This program examines all three, with most time focused on gestalt as an exercise. The program will benefit clinical counsellors, and Haven interns, assistants, and group leaders.

Students in the program will:

• Recognize several different types of gestalt exercise
• Develop their skills in leading gestalt exercises
• Learn what to do when work "falls apart"
• Practice their leadership skills
• Develop greater insight to their own personal issues

Format: Through lectures, discussion, and practice, participants become familiar with leading gestalt exercises of several different types. In addition, students will have opportunity to discuss common issues that arise in leading individual pieces of work. Note: the programs in the Skills series can be taken in any order.

Continuing Education Credits: Approved for Continuing Education Credit hours by the Canadian Counselling Association (www.ccacc.ca)

Accommodation and Meals
The Haven offers a range of comfortable rooms and suites. All accommodation is designed to be shared by two or more people, though private rates are available. We make every effort to meet the needs of all our guests, but cannot guarantee specific rooms. Rates include three buffet-style meals per day.

There are three types of room: Basic, Forest view, and Ocean view.
